When were you last on a digital detox? I will go on one while reading Susan Maushart's [SWE] 'Nedkopplad : En familj. Ett experiment. Ett liv utan teknik.' which scope is well captured by the English title; 'The Winter of Our Disconnect: How Three Totally Wired Teenagers (and a Mother Who Slept with Her iPhone) Pulled the Plug on Their Technology and Lived to Tell the Tale'.
By the experience of the six months long digital disconnect of her family, Susan Maushart encourages us to embrace boredom. It gives rise to creativity. "Maybe you need discomfort in order to move forward", she reflects...
Constant input-flow and multi-tasking don't need to be taken for granted. Maybe this is the book that will influence us to take on mono-tasking as the new black. Maybe we need to re-learn how to really get good things done. Without interruption.
